It would be fair to say that opinions were divided at West Ham over [David Moyes’](https://www.claretandhugh.info/david-moyes-v-graham-potter-rivalry-downplayed-by-canny-irons-boss/) exit. Many were pleased to see the back of him and a year and a half of boring negative defeat-strewn football, despite the Europa Conference League triumph in 2023.
On the other hand, there were many who wanted to keep the Scot at West Ham after his three successive European qualifications. Moyes himself had to endure the ignominy of being ‘let go’ once, after his first stint saved the Hammers from relegation and then finding himself appointed a second time after Pellegrini’s sacking.
It was clear there were ‘issues’ between Moyes and Steidten at the end of his tenure which created the falling out between the two.
However, David Moyes, I suspect is having the ‘last laugh’ at the expense of Tim Steidten right about now. Moyes has gone onto huge (deserved) success at Everton and according to a new article today has done really rather well for himself.
As produced by L’Equipe and featured today in the [dailymail.co.uk](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14538799/Premier-Leagues-highest-paid-players-managers.html) in their article entitled ‘_Premier League’s highest paid players and managers revealed’, behind Pep Guardiola £19,800,000 a year and Mikel Arteta £14,800,000 a year –_
_“In third place, there’s a surprising name. There’s no place for Liverpool’s new boss Arne Slot or Manchester United’s Ruben Amorim._
_Instead, Everton’s David Moyes completes the top three, with the 61-year-old collecting £1,020,000 a month_” or £12,240,000 a year. Thats twelve million a year to manage Everton. Just saying.
