Peter Reid shares what he started to imagine when he first visited Everton’s Bramley-Moore Dock …

Everton will leave Goodison Park at the end of the season.

The Toffees are preparing to move into their new state-of-the-art Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium, which will house 52,000 supporters.

Bramley-Moore Dock staged its second test event last weekend, as 25,000 fans were allowed to attend a match between Everton’s under-21s and Bolton Wanderers’ B team.

That followed the first test event in February, which was also an academy fixture, though only 10,000 were sanctioned to attend.

Former Everton star Peter Reid was in the crowd that evening and he has just been speaking about how he found his first experience at the new ground and what he started to imagine.

Peter Reid started to imagine the atmosphere at new Everton stadium when it’s full

Everton legend Peter Reid was in attendance at the first test event last month when the under-18s played Wigan Athletic.

All Reid could think about was what the atmosphere would be like when it reaches its full capacity, as he was in amazement at just how big the stands are.

“I was like you, Chris. I was there when it was 10,000. And when the siren come on and the Z cars come on, could you imagine what it’s going to be like when there’s 50 odd there?

“So we’re getting there. We’re getting the last game at Goodison Park against Southampton in May. And then in August.”

The test events are being rolled out to obtain the relevant health and safety licensing before the grand opening in August.

Third and final test event to be held before the end of the season

Bramley-Moore Dock will have its third and final test event before the end of the season, though, there’s been no confirmation on the date.

It’s expected that Everton will be allowed to welcome more than 25,000 fans this time, as the club continue to monitor and address any issues that arise.

Everton fans have criticised transport to Bramley-Moore Dock, so Liverpool’s city council will increase the number of train services.

Plus, they may also implement another traffic regulation, which could see a surrounding road suspended on matchday.
