With the NFL draft less than a month away, rumors are starting to heat up quickly. Whether they are just rumors or hints at the truth is a difficult thing fans need to sift through as the draft approaches.
One such storyline currently going around is who is favored to select polarizing quarterback Shedeur Sanders in the NFL draft.
As the consensus second-best quarterback in the class behind Cam Ward, that would make it seem likely he would go to the quarterback-needy Cleveland Browns with the second overall pick.

However, many NFL insiders and draft experts seem to be suggesting Sanders is more likely to be taken by the Giants with the third pick in the draft, whether because the Browns are fine passing on him, or Sanders' preferred destination is the Giants.
Numerous recent mock drafts have Sanders going third overall, with elite pass rusher Abdul Carter going second to the Browns. A big reason why is likely because of Adam Schefter's remarks about the Browns' draft plans.
On a segment of "NFL Live", Schefter discussed how originally he thought the Browns would draft a quarterback, but now believes that would only be true if Cam Ward was available, and would instead select Penn State pass rusher, Abdul Carter.
With Ward assumedly being taken first overall by the Tennessee Titans, that could be a huge indicator that the Browns will pass on quarterback altogether at second overall, leaving Sanders for the Giants to happily take.
Both concepts are a bit surprising, as the Browns currently have Kenny Pickett as their top quarterback, while the Giants at least have Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, both solid one-year options for the team.
The Giants could use a young quarterback to develop behind their two newly acquired veterans, but the Browns are much more in need of a starting quarterback than the Giants.
There was even a rumor spreading at one point that has been quelled by Deion Sanders himself, which indicated Shedeur and Deion were hoping the Giants would be the team to take him.
While that rumor has been shot down, it would be a logical reason for the Browns to pass on Sanders. It typically isn't a good thing to draft someone who doesn't want to be there, especially if they are enough of a public figure to attract attention to it.
As of now, it is unclear what will actually happen come draft night, as things are constantly shifting. Currently, though, it seems Cam Ward will go first overall, Abdul Carter will go second overall, and Shedeur Sanders will go third overall, even if that doesn't make complete sense on paper.
