Bills Trade Up For New No. 1 WR Option in Mock Draft

Last year, the Buffalo Bills drafted wide receiver Keon Coleman out of Florida State with the No. 33 overall pick. In 13 games played, he contributed 29 catches for 556 yards and four touchdowns. Khalil Shakir, a 2022 fifth-rounder, led the Bills last year with 76 receptions for 821 yards and four scores.

With no clear leader at the position, Athlon Sports' Luke Easterling projects Buffalo will draft Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka at No. 24 overall.

The Bills land at that selection after giving up two fourth-round picks to the Minnesota Vikings to move up in front of a few teams perceived to be receiver-needy at the bottom of the first round.

Egbuka finished his senior season at Ohio State with 81 catches for 1,011 yards and 10 touchdowns.

If the 22-year-old wideout is selected in the first round, the 2025 NFL Draft would be the fourth straight to feature a Buckeyes wide receiver in the first round, following 2024's Marvin Harrison Jr. (Arizona), 2023's Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Seattle), and 2022's Garrett Wilson (N.Y. Jets) & Chris Olave (New Orleans).

Since 1995, Ohio State has had 11 wide receivers selected in the first round.

Buffalo signed WR Joshua Palmer via free agency earlier this month. The former Los Angeles Chargers wideout had 39 catches for 584 yards and one touchdown last season. In 2022, he had his best year, catching 72 passes for 769 yards and three touchdowns.

The Bills have been most active in free agency on the defensive side of the ball. They signed defensive end Joey Bosa, also from the Chargers, to a one-year, $12.6 million contract. Buffalo struck free-agent deals for safety Darrick Forrest and defensive linemen Michael Hoecht and Larry Ogunjobi.
