The NFL draft is just under a month away, and the rumors are heating up. A lot of the hype heading is revolving around the two quarterbacks at the top of the draft, Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders.
When it comes to Sanders, many people thought that his father, NFL legend Deion Sanders (and also his head coach in college), would dictate where Shedeur ended up to make sure that he landed at a favorable fit for the rest of his career.
Now, Deion is revealing how he feels about his son’s potential landing spots heading into the draft.
“Shedeur has told me, he’s talked to me intently about all the visits he’s had with all the teams, so I know where his heart is, I know where he wants to go,” Sanders said, according to Pro Football Talk.
“If it’s New York it’s New York, if it’s Tennessee, if it’s Cleveland, if it’s still the Raiders, if it’s New Orleans, if it’s any of those teams that are seeking a quarterback I’m happy with it, man. Because I know what he’s going to do to the organization.”
Fans reacted to Deion’s words on social media.
“aka I shouldn’t have opened my dumbass mouth and soured anyone on picking my son because I refuse to stay out of his business,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“That’s how fathers of elite athletes talk. Blessed to have an opportunity…unforced,” someone else added.
“Wow. Talk about an abrupt 180 from he said a year ago. Might be worrying he’s going to slide,” wrote someone else.
It’ll be interesting to see where Shedeur’s name is called.
