Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo has picked up a leg injury that could rule him out of upcoming matches, coach Hansi Flick said after his team's 3-0 win over Osasuna on Thursday.

Olmo appeared to injure his upper right leg in the first half. The Spanish international walked off the pitch when substituted in the 28th minute after he had doubled Barca’s lead with a twice taken penalty.

"It is an injury, and now in this schedule two weeks is a lot of matches, so it is not good," Flick said.

Barcelona host Girona on Sunday in the Spanish league, which they lead by three points over Real Madrid.

They then visit Atletico Madrid on April 2 with their Copa del Rey semi-final poised 4-4 after the first leg. Then, after facing Real Betis in La Liga, they play Borussia Dortmund on April 9 in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.

Olmo joined Barcelona last summer and has provided another option in attack with seven goals and playmaking abilities.

Either side of Olmo’s goal, Ferran Torres had opened the scoring in the 11th minute as he turned home Alejandro Balde's cross to finish off a fine team goal and then substitute Robert Lewandowski's close-range header wrapped up the win in the second half.

"We are going through a great moment and I proud of team, they way they are facing every game with the same commitment," Flick added,

"There are 10 games to go and we are three points clear on top so that's good and we have to keep going with the same attitude.

"The situation was not easy, having to play today was not ideal and it cost us as Olmo got injured. It made the win have a bitter taste."
