The Atlanta Hawks will travel to South Beach to take on the Miami Heat. The Hawks will look to get an inch closer to .500 and record their 36th win of the season. The Heat, on the other hand, will look to capture their 32nd win for the season.
The Heat are currently on a mini two-game win streak after losing 10 consecutive games. Miami will look to extend its winning streak to three games in front of its home fans.
While that is the case, one key player from each team landed on the injury report. The Hawks' star point guard Trae Young landed on their due to an Achilles issue. For the Heat, their sharpshooter, Duncan Robinson, landed on the injury report due to a back injury.
Only one of them will be active and available for this game. Young has been upgraded to active and will start for the Hawks. However, Duncan has been ruled out due to his back injury.
The four-time NBA All-Star has only missed one game since February, despite being a mainstay on the injury report. Nonetheless, this injury will not affect him for this division clash.
Young has been excellent in his last five contests, averaging 26.2 points, 10.8 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.6 steals while shooting 52.4 percent of his field-goal attempts and 51.6 percent of his three-point over 35.2 minutes.
Young has also been stellar this season, averaging 24.1 points per game, 11.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in 67 games. However, his shooting numbers are not ideal. Young is shooting 41.0 percent from the field and only 33.3 percent from beyond the arc.
Duncan Robinson will miss his third consecutive game as he continues to deal with lower back pain. In his absence, Alec Burks could remain in the starting lineup, while Jaime Jaquez and Davion Mitchell may also see increased minutes in the backcourt. Robinson's next opportunity to return will be on Saturday against the 76ers.
Miami holds an 8-5 record against divisional opponents and has struggled in lopsided games, going 16-18 in contests decided by 10 or more points.
Atlanta, meanwhile, has fared well in division play with a 9-4 record. The Hawks rank fifth in the NBA in scoring, averaging 117.6 points per game while shooting 46.9% from the field.
Over their last 10 games, the Hawks have been impressive, going 7-3 while averaging 121.5 points, 43.7 rebounds, 29.8 assists, 8.8 steals, and 5.9 blocks per game on 49.1 percent shooting. Their opponents have averaged 116.9 points during that span.
Conversely, the Heat have struggled, posting a 2-8 record while averaging just 103.7 points, 37.8 rebounds, 24.3 assists, 8.6 steals, and 4.4 blocks per game on 48.0 percent shooting.
