
On March 26, 2025, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong and Joint Secretary of the East Asia Division of the Ministry of External Affairs of India Gourangalal Das co-chaired the consultations between officials of the Chinese and Indian foreign ministries in Beijing, in a candid, practical and constructive atmosphere.
The two sides agreed to jointly deliver on the important common understandings reached at the meeting between President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kazan, and advance the implementation of the outcomes achieved in a series of recent important exchanges between the two countries. The two sides will actively promote exchanges at all levels and across various fields, accelerate the resumption of direct flights between the Chinese mainland and India, facilitation personnel exchanges, the exchange of journalists and other related matters, and properly manage differences and sensitive issues. The two sides will also strengthen communication and coordination within multilateral mechanisms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and on international and regional affairs, jointly uphold multilateralism, advocate for a multipolar world, safeguard the common interests of the Global South, and steer the development of China-India relations along a sound and stable track.
