Happy homecoming: Cavaliers outlast Spurs

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Jarrett Allen scored 19 of his 29 points in the 4th quarter as the Cavaliers held off a shorthanded San Antonio team 124-116 Thursday night at Rocket Arena.

Allen had just 2 points at the half.

It was Cleveland’s first home game after a 2-3 West Coast trip.

Donovan Mitchell chipped in 25 points and 14 assists for the Cavs, who improve to 59-14.

The Spurs were without Victor Wembanyama, DeAaron Fox and head coach Gregg Popovich, who are all out for the season.

Cleveland led by 6 points after one quarter, by 5 at the half and by 3 after three.
