SALT LAKE CITY – BYU’s Living Legends took the court at Delta Center on Thursday night to perform a traditional Haka before the Utah Jazz hosted the Houston Rockets.
The Living Legends are made up of performers of native descent who showcase the cultures of Polynesia, Native American people, and Latin America.
The Haka is a traditional war dance of the Māori people.

BYU’s Living Legends Performed Haka Before Jazz Hosted Rockets
The Living Legends performed the Haka as part of the Jazz’s Polynesian Heritage Night celebration.
The event also featured lei makers and wood and bone carving demonstrations.
Thursday’s matchup was the final contest of a six-game homestand for the Jazz who were just 1-4 in their five previous meetings in Salt Lake City.

After facing the Rockets, the Jazz will head out on the road for a five-game road trip before playing their final two home games of the season. The regular season will end with a one-off road game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on April 13.

The Jazz will face a tough back-to-back on Friday, traveling to Denver to face the Nuggets after hosting the red-hot Rockets.
With just nine games left to play, the Jazz are tied with the Washington Wizards for hte worst record in the NBA at 16-47.
