What Makes This Ohio State Stud a Fit for the Eagles?

The Philadelphia Eagles are intensifying their search for offensive line reinforcements ahead of next month's NFL Draft, with Ohio State's Donovan Jackson emerging as a prime target. Jackson has secured a top-30 visit with the Eagles, according to NFL Draft analyst Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda, who reported from Ohio State's Pro Day on Wednesday.

The Buckeyes' Pro Day attracted approximately 150 scouts and executives from across the NFL, showcasing 17 different prospects from the reigning national champions. With buzz growing that Ohio State could surpass Georgia's record of 15 players selected in the 2022 draft, Jackson stands out as one of the program's top linemen in this year's class.

A dominant left guard throughout his college career, Jackson also displayed versatility last season by stepping in at left tackle when teammate Josh Simmons-another top-tier draft prospect-was sidelined by injury. Measuring in with 34½-inch arms, Jackson meets the NFL's preferred tackle length thresholds, though most scouts project him as a high-upside guard at the next level.

Jackson's strength was on full display at Pro Day, where he posted 32 bench press reps-reinforcing why many evaluators view him as an ideal replacement for the departed Mekhi Becton at right guard in Philadelphia.

While Jackson could be available at the Eagles' 32nd overall pick, there's also a risk he won't last until their second-round selection at No. 64. Though his ability to play multiple positions could justify a late first-round selection, draft analysts suggest Philadelphia might consider trading down to align his value more appropriately with their draft board.

General Manager Howie Roseman has made offensive line depth a clear priority in pre-draft evaluations. Jackson joins an expanding list of linemen linked to Philadelphia through top-30 visits, including Oregon's Josh Conerly, North Carolina State's Anthony Belton, Purdue's Marcus Mbow, Iowa State's Jalen Travis, and William & Mary's Charles Grant.

As the draft approaches, Jackson's blend of power, technique, and positional flexibility makes him a compelling option for an Eagles franchise that has long built its success from the trenches.
