Strengths
After seven years in the college ranks, Shough brings a wealth of experience to the next level. He has the prototypical height for an NFL pocket passer, and has enough arm strength to deliver the ball with velocity to the intermediate levels of the field. His throwing motion is compact with a quick, smooth release that gets the ball out quickly and efficiently, and Shough knows how to adjust his arm angles to fit any situation. He's got solid movement skills for a bigger quarterback, and is able to pick up key yards and move the chains when the defense gives him enough room.
Weaknesses
Shough's college career was prolonged by multiple injuries that cost him sizable chunks of three different seasons. His experience is valuable, but he'll enter the draft as one of the oldest prospects in the entire class, turning 26 years old early in his rookie season, which will lead to questions about his developmental ceiling. While he shows good zip on short and intermediate throws, his deep balls have a tendency to flutter, leaving enough time for defenders to break up a would-be big play. His upper-body mechanics are fluid, but his footwork and hip torque can be inconsistent, leading to misplaced throws and accuracy issues.

Final Analysis
There are a few NFL-level tools here, and Shough's level of experience could give him a level of pro-readiness that will appeal to certain people across the league. His ceiling may be limited by his age and injury history, but there's no reason Shough can't provide value to a quarterback room based on his size, arm talent, and the amount of football he's already played.
