A semifinal at Wembley awaits for the winner of AFC Bournemouth vs Manchester City on Sunday but what has happened on the other two occasions the Cherries have reached this stage?
The Daily Echo took a look back at the club’s previous two best cup runs.

Masterminded by manager Freddie Cox, the then-Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic picked up some huge scalps on their way to the quarterfinal stage, before they were knocked out by the Manchester United Busby Babes.
The run began with an 8-0 demolition of Burton Albion in the first round at Dean Court, before a 1-0 win away at Swindon Town.
Up next was the visit of Accrington Stanley, who were duly despatched 2-0.

The Division Three South side were then handed an away tie at the mighty Wolverhampton Wanderers, who were flying high in third in the First Division.
After a seven-minute delay to repair the goalposts, which fell down after Cherries outside-left Reg Cutler crashed into it, the visitors to Molineux took the lead before the break, through Cutler.
Boscombe defended resolutely afterwards and held on to a 1-0 win, despite Wolves piling on the pressure.
After a champagne and chicken dinner at a local country house hotel to reward the squad for their heroics at Wolves, Tottenham Hotspur were next to be put to the sword by Cox’s men.
The Cherries led 2-1 at half time, before a superb solo goal from Nelson Stiffle extended the advantage and the hosts held firm to win 3-1.
The Busby Babes visited Dean Court in the quarterfinals, and, although the Cherries gave them a stern test, a Johnny Berry brace in the second half gave Manchester United a 2-1 win, after Brian Bedford’s goal gave the Cherries the halftime lead.

The Cherries would have to wait 64 years before they next reached the quarterfinals in the cup, where they were knocked out by south coast neighbours Southampton.
Having been relegated from the Premier League the season previous, Jason Tindall was at the helm after Eddie Howe’s departure in the summer.
He presided over the first two wins in the cup run, against Oldham Athletic and Crawley Town, before caretaker boss Jonathan Woodgate presided over the fifth round win over Burnley.
Woodgate was appointed on a permanent basis before the Cherries were beaten in the quarterfinals by Saints.

Sam Surridge and Junior Stanislas were on the scoresheet at Turf Moor as the Cherries beat Burnley 2-0 to set up a south coast clash in the final eight.
But Premier League strugglers Saints brushed Woodgate’s Cherries aside, winning 3-0 thanks to a Nathan Redmond brace and a Moussa Djenepo goal.
The Cherries will be hoping to go at least one step further this season, though – they host Manchester City at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday, March 30.
