One step forward, two steps back. After snapping a five-game losing skid, Washington Wizards fans hoped to see more signs of life from the team. Winning against the fourth-seeded Indiana Pacers was a long shot, sure, but perhaps a competitive loss was doable.
Instead, the Wizards came crashing down to Earth... and then buried themselves deeper. Washington lost to Indiana 162 - 109 in one of the worst defensive performances seen in the last few years. It was so brutal that the Pacers started running out the clock with still one minute and 22 seconds left on the clock.
The Wizards were losing so badly that the Pacers started taking shot-clock violations with 1:22 remaining.

Of course, fans started roasting the Wizards for their terrible performance. Some couldn't believe the final score at first, because it is quite ridiculous that an NBA team drops 162 points on another NBA team.

Others joked that the Pacers took out their recent heartbreak against the Los Angeles Lakers on the Wizards. @MaskedInLA said that "Pacers took the anger from the Bron game winner out on the Wizards".
There was also a lot of harsh words spoked. James Boyd said that "The Wizards should be banished from the league. Just a complete mess of a franchise." @NpgSav concurred, saying that "The wizards needa get kicked outta the league fr".
@Abdin_kiddactiv's reaction was the only silver lining for Wizards fans. He noted that "Usually when a team is this bad they get a generational player from the lottery".
Alex Sarr led the way for the Wizards with 22 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Poole had 18, while Justin Champagnie had 15 as a starter. For the Pacers, Tyrese Haliburton was the top scorer with 29 points, one of nine players that scored double digits. Myles Turner had 17 and Pascal Siakam added 13 points.
