Jack Kiser talks special teams experience at Notre Dame’s Pro Day

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The NFL Draft is just around the corner, and several Notre Dame players, including Jack Kiser, are hoping to hear their names called over the three-day event.

Kiser has added so much to this program during his six years, and he found himself back on campus Thursday to showcase his skills at Notre Dame’s Pro Day.

But he looked a bit different. Kiser seemed to have put on a little more muscle since we last saw him. He mentioned how getting out of in-season training allowed him to focus on strength building. He stayed in South Bend and trained with a training staff that helped make sure he was ready for today.

When you look at the time Kiser was at Notre Dame, special teams is where he really made his mark early on. And that’s something he says he can add to an NFL team moving forward.

“Probably have at least 800 reps on special teams under my belt,” Kiser said. “If you look at the punt block unit or punt unit, there are a lot of times I’m the one out there making calls. I took a lot of pride being out there and executing and also helping the team make a big play. If you look at the playoff stretch, special teams was a huge part of that. Going into the NFL, that doesn’t change. Special teams is one of the best ways to find yourself on a roster.”

The NFL Draft takes place April 24-26 in Green Bay.
