Man United Named As‘The Club To Watch’In Battle To Sign£313K A Week Striker This Summer

Manchester United are discussing whether to make a move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic according to reports.

Writing in his column for TEAMtalk, journalist Ben Jacobs claims that the Red Devils are “the club to watch” as the race for the Serbian’s signature heats up.

Vlahovic will have just a year left on his contract at the end of the season and Juve are expected to let him leave for a bargain price.

The Bianconeri were hoping to reduce the forward’s £313,000 a week salary, but negotiations over a new deal have now stalled.

After being made available for between €40m (£33m) and €50m (£42m) last year, Jacobs reports that Vlahovic could now be offloaded for even less than that.

United might have a clear run to sign Vlahovic

While the 25-year-old has been offered to clubs like Chelsea in the past, it is believed there isn’t strong interest from the Blues or other Premier League teams.

That makes a move for Vlahovic more attractive, in addition to his low asking price, but his wage demands could still prove to be a sticking point.

At least 3 other forwards are under consideration

While Vlahovic is one of the names under discussion, it is believed that several other strikers are also being looked at by the recruitment department.

Lille’s Jonathan David is available on a free transfer so the Canadian international will be considered. The likes of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Ipswich’s Liam Delap are on the club’s radar too.

The decision on who becomes the priority target has yet to be made, although finances and competition from other clubs are expected to be factors in who the Red Devils ultimately look to pursue this summer.
