Chelsea will have the chance to significantly increase their transfer budget by selling up to eight players at the end of the season. The west Londoners have been the Premier League's busiest club over the last few years, making a huge number of signings. They could decide to trim their bloated squad when the market opens, with Enzo Fernandez among those said to be attracting interest.
The midfielder has emerged as a target for Atletico Madrid, according to Spanish outlet AS. He reportedly wants to stay at Chelsea for now, but the report claims that 'all options are open' regarding a summer sale. If he does leave, it could kickstart a mass exodus at Stamford Bridge.
This would raise plenty of transfer funds, given that Fernandez and others would command significant fees. He is valued at £62.5million by Transfermarkt but it is likely that Chelsea would be able to negotiate a higher amount, given that he is tied down until 2032.
Noni Madueke is another player to have been linked with a potential exit, with his estimated value listed at £33.3m. The likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle are said to be interested and TBR Football have claimed that Chelsea are open to selling him.
Chelsea also have several fringe players who are likely to leave when the season draws to a close. Axel Disasi, Joao Felix, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Raheem Sterling, Armando Broja and Ben Chilwell have all been loaned out and none of them appear to have a future at Stamford Bridge.
Disasi has an estimated market value of £20.8m, while Felix is said to be worth the same amount. Kepa, meanwhile, boasts a valuation of £9.2m. Sterling is valued slightly higher at £12.5m, with Broja and Chilwell commanding £10.8m and £15m respectively.
If all eight players are sold by Chelsea for their estimated market values, the Blues would raise a grand total of £184.9m. This would allow them to make some marquee additions, with the signing of a prolific striker thought to be a main objective. The likes of Victor Osimhen, Alexander Isak and Liam Delap have been mentioned as possible targets over the last few months.
In addition to that obvious priority, Fabrizio Romano also expects Chelsea to target a defender and a winger. They could also be tempted to sign a new goalkeeper, with Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen struggling to prove themselves at the moment.
