Southampton could now sell another “top” player alongside Tyler Dibling this summer with a European giant keen.
Southampton set to be relegated as clubs circle for £100m Dibling
The Saints haven’t had the return to the Premier League they would have wanted and look certain to be relegated to the Championship in the coming weeks.
After parting ways with Russell Martin and bringing in Ivan Juric, Southampton sit rock bottom of the table on nine points from 29 games.
Lowest points totals in the Premier League Points Season
Derby County 11 2007/08
Sunderland 15 2005/06
Sheffield United 16 2023/24
Huddersfield Town 16 2018/19
Aston Villa 17 2015/16
The club still need three more points to avoid setting the lowest points total in Premier League history, and Juric said prior to the international break: "I think that the players, everybody here, we have to be tough, be a man.
"We have to try to do our best until the end and not go down, absolutely. I think we had a really good chance to do the points here. We didn't do it. There is always missing something. I hope we do better in the last nine games. Sometimes it's quality. It's obvious when you are nine points.”
As a result of going straight back down, it could be a busy summer transfer window with various outgoings on the south coast.
Dibling could be the biggest departure over the coming months, with the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham and RB Leipzig all interested in the 19-year-old.
Manchester United and ex-Saints chief Jason Wilcox are also keen on the youngster, with Southampton ready to demand £100m to sell Dibling. Now, another youngster at the club is being eyed by a European giant.
Juventus eyeing £15m Southampton gem Fernandes
According to reports in Italy, relayed by Sport Witness, Mateus Fernandes could be offered a Southampton exit with Juventus this summer. It is believed that the Serie A giants have spotted Fernandes and see him as a ‘a modern playmaker with excellent vision of the game, great mobility and refined feet’.

Scouts have compared him to Paulo Sousa, and it is claimed that Juventus could make a move to sign Fernandes from Southampton this summer.
The 20-year-old, who cost £15m last summer, is under contract at St Mary’s until 2029 and was hailed by former manager Martin earlier this season.
“He’s a top, top player. We have two players in Mateus and Tyler Dibling, and a few others, who have the potential to play wherever they want.”

Southampton are expected to lose key players this summer due to relegation, and now a price has emerged for one individual.
Martin added: “We have to enjoy them because if they continue to do what they are doing, and we win some games of football, they will attract some interest.
“Mateus needs to get up to speed with the Premier League. Every bit of his talent, his guile, his creativity is matched with intensity, desire and fight to win.”
