Political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Armenia and Montenegro

On March 27, political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Armenia and Montenegro were held in Yerevan. The Armenian delegation was headed by Vahan Kostanyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, while the Montenegrin delegation was led by Periša Kastratović, State Secretary in the MFA of Montenegro.

During the consultations, the parties touched upon the recent positive dynamics in bilateral relations, as well as high-level contacts, emphasizing the importance of these interactions as an impetus for deepening political dialogue and identifying opportunities to enhance economic cooperation.

The parties highlighted the importance of consistent development and deepening of relations in parliamentary diplomacy, education, tourism, innovative technologies, decentralized cooperation, and other spheres.

The importance of expanding the legal framework, as well as the cooperation on multilateral platforms was also emphasized. The importance of studying and exchanging the European integration experiences was also on the agenda of the consultations.

The interlocutors also touched upon a number of issues of the regional and international agenda. The Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister underscored the importance of the welcoming position expressed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, regarding the finalization of the "Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan". Vahan Kostanyan added that the Armenian side has proposed to the Azerbaijani side to hold consultations regarding the time and venue of the signing.

Deputy Minister Kostanyan briefed his counterparts on the “Crossroads of Peace” project of the Government of Armenia.
