Tottenham attacker Richarlison appears to be stuck in a vicious injury cycle, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert explained his ongoing calf issue in detail and also highlighted the fact that he’s had other soft tissue setbacks this season.

The 27-year-old has not featured since the 4-0 defeat against Liverpool on 6 February.

Chelsea v Spurs comes too soon for Richarlison

Spurs are unlikely to have the Brazil international back for their game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

With both teams out of the FA Cup, they resume action after the international break in the Premier League on 3 April.

Richarlison’s record for Tottenham is underwhelming

Discussing the state of play with Richarlison exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, shared his verdict.

“This sounds like a calf issue that hasn’t responded that well to rehab and that can happen with the calf complex,” he said.

“He’s also had multiple other soft tissue injuries this season which create dents in fitness and vicious injury cycles.

“*It’s highly unlikely that he’s back right after the break for the next one.*“

Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham may decide to part ways with Richarlison in the summer

If Ange Postecoglou remains Tottenham’s manager, he and the board might opt to offload Richarlison in the summer due to his ongoing injury woes and inconsistent performances.

Since his £60million move from Everton in 2022, the Brazilian striker has struggled to stay fit, missing significant stretches – over 20 games in two seasons – disrupting his rhythm and team cohesion.

His output falls short of expectations for a marquee signing, especially in Postecoglou’s high-intensity system that demands reliable, versatile forwards.

With Tottenham eyeing a Champions League push, Richarlison’s unpredictability clashes with the need for consistency.

Financially, offloading him could recoup funds for a more durable option who could strengthen the playing eleven and also remain fit.

While Richarlison may be an incredible presence behind the scenes, his lack of availability does not justify the wages he’s on at the North London club.
