Tottenham Hotspur have been deprived of a consistent forward line for quite some time now. The Lilywhites have been enduring a tough campaign this season and sit in 14th in the Premier League table. It is not an ideal place to be, considering the expectations and hopes of so many Spurs fans was to compete for a trophy.
But the league campaign is already a write-off for the North London club and they are out of the domestic competitions as well. The only glimmer of hope is the Europa League, where Ange Postecoglou’s men have reached the quarter-finals stage. Fans will be hoping that the players turn up for the last part of the campaign and fight for the badge.
Heung-Min Son has endured a difficult campaign for Spurs this season
Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing Roony Bardghji.
Ange Postecoglou has had to deal with several injury issues. Many first-team players have been out of the squad throughout the campaign and this has also been a reason for a bad season. It has also been reported that key players like Cristian Romero and Rodrigo Bentancur might be heading for the exit doors in the summer. None of these transfer links have helped the club’s cause and it has further created disruption among supporters.
Tottenham Hotspur eyeing Roony Bardghji
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked to various forward players in the last few weeks. This has been majorly due to the inconsistency shown by Heung-Min Son, Timo Werner, and Brennon Johnson. They have been quite frustrating for most parts of the season, and Ange Postecoglou is said to have run out of patience.
Now Spurs are in the market for a potentially world-class winger for next season. According to TBR Football correspondent Dean Jones, the Lilywhites are targeting FC Copenhagen winger Roony Bardghji. The highly rated right-winger is deemed to have a high ceiling, and Spurs are looking to capitalise on that. It is also reported that the Danish club have set a price tag of £8 million for the Swedish winger.
Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing FC Copenhagen star Roony Bardghji.
TBR Football journalist Jones said,
“I would be very surprised if there’s not serious interest in him this summer. And also if Copenhagen weren’t tempted to sell, given that they’ve just done a season pretty much without him and that he could walk away for free in December. Yeah, such a good player. Be able to get him for about seven to eight million pounds in the summer by kind of getting in there early. And I think someone will do that.”
The reporter added,
“Man City, Tottenham and Newcastle are the names that I’m given on him in terms of concrete levels of interest. Obviously at the moment, they haven’t really been able to be active on anything because he hasn’t been playing, he’s been injured for so long.”
Who is Roony Bardghji?
Roony Bardghji has been highly regarded by everyone at FC Copenhagen. The 19-year-old had a memorable 2023/24 season for the Danish club and was touted to be on the move last summer as well. According to Manchester Evening News, English giants Manchester United were interested in the Swedish talent last summer.
However, the Copenhagen talent has not played at all this season after tearing his ACL in May last year. It is said that Bardghji is recovering well, but it is going to be a long road to full fitness for the 19-year-old. But Bardghji is still an exciting young talent who loves to cut inside, dribble past defenders and shoot. It is his trademark move.

If Spurs do land the talented winger, it will surely be a step in the right direction in terms of developing talent at the club. However, his injury record will be a worrying sight, and there are chances that an ACL injury might recur in the future.
