Hello and welcome to the Arsenal transfer blog as we the Gunners preparations begin for the upcoming summer transfer window opening in. Mikel Arteta's side are expected to have a busy window as they look to win their first Premier League title since 2003-04
The Gunners have been one of the contenders for this year's title, but currently sit 12 points behind Liverpool heading into the run in. Arsenal have lost the likes of Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus to long-term injuries, putting their title push under severe strain.
Despite their injury woes up front, they chose not to sign an out-and-out striker in the January transfer window, leaving them short of goals in the final third. A new forward remains the priority in the summer transfer window if they're serious about becoming Premier League champions.
The Gunners have been linked with a plethora of attacking talent, including Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak, with the latter boasting a whopping £150million price tag.
The Magpies striker has already shown why he's one of the most sought after stars in world football, scoring the winner in the Carabao Cup final to end Newcastle's 70-year wait for a domestic trophy, scoring against Arsenal on route to the final.
Elsewhere, the Gunners will need to add some depth to central midfield with both Thomas Partey and Jorginho set to leave the club this summer, with their contracts currently expiring.
Football.london will also be bringing you other news, such as injury updates, from north London as the Gunners prepare to return to action against Fulham on Tuesday night. Follow the latest Arsenal updates below.
