'I'm convinced': Peter Reid thinks Everton have something 'amazing' lined up for Goodison Park…

Everton have just four games remaining at Goodison Park before they bid farewell to the Old Lady.

Exciting times are undoubtedly ahead for the Toffees, but the next month or so is going to be emotional for a lot of fans.

Bidding farewell to Goodison Park is going to close a certain chapter in Everton’s history as they make the move across to the docks.

Bramley-Moore Dock left Tim Howard stunned when the American visited recently, with the sheer size of the ground wowing him.

David Moyes looks to have secured Premier League football for the club moving into their new state-of-the-art home.

Knowing the club are all but safe now will allow the fans to enjoy the remaining games at Goodison, with Peter Reid expecting a big send-off.

Jamie Carragher thinks Everton fans will approve the stadium move as it will allow the club to move forward off the pitch.

However, it is going to mark a seriously emotional day when Everton face Southampton for the final game at their historic ground.

Speaking on the Royal Blue podcast, Reid is expecting Everton to invite a lot of their club legends back for the final game at Goodison.

“On that day, I just want to suck everything in,” said Reid.

“I think it will be very. very emotional. I think even talking about it, you go wow the last time at Goodison Park. I’ve gone about the history, but that will all come out.

“I don’t know how many ex-players are being invited. I’m sure the club will all of the living ones they can there. I’m convinced, that’ll be amazing.”

Reid has been amazed by Bramley-Moore Dock after attending the first test event when the Everton U18s played Wigan Athletic.

But there is still four games to go at Goodison and Everton players, staff and fans will now have to make the most of every minute.

Everton should copy Tottenham Hotspur’s White Hart Lane finale

In some ways, there are a lot of similarities in Everton’s stadium move to the one Tottenham Hotspur made around six years ago.

Like Spurs, Everton are set to receive a big financial move from Bramley-Moore with the increased capacity and improved facilities transforming matchday revenue.

And the Toffees should look at what Spurs did for their White Hart Lane farewell as they honoured a number of club legends after the game.

These are the players which provided Everton fans with some huge moments and wrote their names in the history books at Goodison Park.

They absolutely deserve to play their part in the send-off for the stadium which holds so many positive memories from years gone by.
