Newcastle United's open-top bus parade will start at St James' Park
Newcastle United fans will get the chance to celebrate the Carabao Cup success with the players this weekend, as their heroes parade the trophy on Tyneside.
The Magpies faithful have had to wait almost to weeks to welcome the team back to the North East following international call-ups and a mid-season training camp in Dubai. But the party will kick back into gear on Saturday, with a huge event planned for the city's Town Moor.
Before that, the players and coaching staff will ride through the city on an open-top bus en route to the Town Moor, where fans can line the streets to cheers their stars and catch a glimpse of the trophy. The bus will leave St James' Park at around 4.30pm and make its way past the STACK and on to Percy Street in Newcastle city centre.
It will then head towards Haymarket before joining the Great North Road (B1318) to head towards the Town Moor for the evening event, with an expected arrival of around 5pm.
A statement from the club read: "Supporters are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and are advised to use public transport where possible. A number of road closures will be in operation on Saturday 29 March, on the following roads: Barrack Road (from St. James’ Park to Gallowgate), Gallowgate, Percy Street, B1318 (to Great North Road), Great North Road."
