By now, most Liverpool fans are aware that something is developing between the Anfield club and Bournemouth’s star left-back Milos Kerkez.
The Reds have been actively scouting for a new left-back, with doubts surrounding the long-term roles of Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas under Arne Slot.
Kerkez has emerged as a top target, with reports suggesting a potential transfer fee of around £40 million.
Fabrizio Romano has already confirmed that the Hungary international has been contacted by Liverpool.
And now the player himself has given a big boost to the chances of Liverpool making the signing – basically admitting he will be looking for a transfer in the summer.
Speaking to the Athletic, the Hungary international spoke of his desire to win trophies and play on the highest level – two things that he can definitely achieve at Liverpool:
“As a kid, you dream to play at the highest level, win the trophies, be on the best teams,” Kerkez says.
“These are the things that my agent is on. My dad is on. It is not something that they occupy me with because the season is still going, so there’s no point to talk about anything.”
“There’s games left, the FA Cup is important for us — these are big things.”
In perhaps his most significant admission yet, the 21-year-old added that he was going to ‘see what happens’ in the upcoming summer transfer window:
“And then, like I say, when someone comes (in for you) you never know what’s going to happen or where you’re going to end up. In the summer, we will see what happens.”
Milos Kerkez’s recent decision to switch agents to Fali Ramadani, who facilitated Federico Chiesa’s transfer to Liverpool in 2024, could simplify potential negotiations for a move to Anfield.
Bournemouth seems prepared for his departure, having already signed 20-year-old Julio Soler as a potential replacement.
Additionally, Kerkez’s brother, Marko, has fueled speculation by liking an Instagram post from Hungarian outlet M4 Sport, which cited reports that the player is eager to join Liverpool
