Hamza Igamane has been a rare shining light for Rangers this season.

The Moroccan forward has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Ibrox despite a tough season for the Govan outfit, notching 10 goals in 26 Scottish Premiership matches.

His stunning rise to stardom since his move from FAR Rabat has led to attention from national team coach Walid Regragui.

Igamane makes Morocco debut in international break

Igamane’s remarkable form for Rangers has seen interest emerge from Premier League clubs, such as Everton and Tottenham.

Perhaps more importantly for the Gers star, it has seen him make his international debut in the World Cup qualifier with Tanzania, which saw the Atlas Lions secure a 2-0 victory as he made a late cameo appearance.

After the contest, the Bears ace took to Instagram (27 March), saying: “alhamdulilah,” which is an Arabic phrase that means god is great.

Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz, Igamane’s teammate at international level, commented on the post with two fire emojis.

Rangers face a fight to keep hold of Igamane

Igamane’s emergence has been a rare positive in a campaign that has seen the Gers’ prospects of winning a trophy reduced to just the Europa League.

Despite the pressure and eventually the sacking of Philippe Clement, the Moroccan has thrived after being given a chance in the starting line-up and continued to do so under Barry Ferguson.

If he continues his stunning rise then it will difficult for the Gers to keep his services as top-flight clubs from England are already sniffing around, ahead of the summer transfer window.

Now that he has made his debut for his country, that may lead to his reputation increasing, which may bring other, bigger clubs to the table.

Whatever happens in the lead up to the summer, one thing is for sure, the Auchenhowie outfit will make a significant profit on the £2.5million that they reportedly paid for the 22-year-old.

They may well hope that Diaz can persuade Madrid to make a move for his compatriot, as it would increase the fee that they would receive if the Spanish giants entered a bidding war.
