Titans make move for veteran quarterback

The Tennessee Titans have been rumored to potentially be moving in on selecting Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. But on Wednesday, the organization made a much smaller move in the meantime to add to their depth at the position.

On Wednesday, the organization announced that they would be signing journeyman quarterback Tim Boyle, first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Titans have signed veteran quarterback Tim Boyle, who has spent six NFL seasons with the Packers, Lions, Bears, Jets, Texans, Dolphins and Giants.

While Boyle certainly doesn’t profile to be any kind of competition should the Titans bring in Cam Ward in April, Boyle could potentially serve as a mentor for Ward to help show him what it means to be a professional at the NFL level.

Boyle has spent time with some great quarterbacks over the course of his career. Most notably, he was a backup to Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay in 2019 and 2020.

Some may see this move as insignificant. And in terms of what Boyle will likely produce on the field as a Titan, that will likely end up being the case. After all, Boyle’s career stats aren’t exactly something to write home about, with just five passing touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 23 career appearances.

But if Boyle can help the development of Cam Ward, or whatever other quarterback the Titans potentially bring in via the NFL Draft, it will certainly be a move that could pay off in the long run for Tennessee.
