Antony has shared his experiences from his time at Manchester United, shedding light on the challenges he faced at Old Trafford before moving to Spain.
The Brazilian winger, who struggled to make a lasting impression in the Premier League, has been in impressive form since joining Real Betis.
In just 11 appearances, Antony has contributed four goals and four assists, showcasing the attacking flair that made him a highly sought-after talent before his United move.
During a recent interview with DAZN, Antony discussed his journey at Manchester United, revealing that while his time in England wasn’t always smooth, he has no resentment towards the club or manager Erik ten Hag.
“If they pay that kind of money for you, it’s because you have talent and quality,” Antony told DAZN, as quoted by Goal.
“Wherever I go, I’ll always speak highly of United.
“I’m very grateful to the club and to Erik ten Hag for what we experienced together, for the titles, and for everything I’ve learned.
“I had difficult times there, but also very good ones.
“I think it prepared me to be here today, enjoying myself.
“My mind is here, and I’m very happy.”
Since his loan move to Real Betis, Antony has rediscovered the confidence and form he had struggled to maintain in the Premier League.

He explained how his time at Betis has been pivotal in his personal and professional growth.
“I found myself, I needed to find myself and be happy,” he said.
“I needed my family to be happy too.
“Every day that goes by I see that it was the best decision I could have made.
“I’m enjoying the city, the club and everything.
“It reminds me a lot of Brazil because of the sun, the food, the people are also very happy.”
Although Antony has not entirely closed the door on Manchester United, reports suggest that a permanent move to Betis may be on the horizon.
Discussions between United and Betis are expected soon, with both parties, along with Antony’s representatives, aiming to reach a resolution.
Betis is keen to keep Antony beyond this season, but financial challenges remain, with the Spanish club only covering a fraction of the winger’s salary.
Real Betis’ Champions League hopes could play a crucial role in securing Antony’s future.
Currently in sixth place in La Liga, Betis is fighting for a top-four finish, which would not only boost their finances but also improve their chances of negotiating a deal with Manchester United.
As Antony’s future remains uncertain, his performances in Spain have shown that he’s found a place where he can thrive, far from the pressures he experienced in the Premier League.
