It was the most exciting time to be a Newcastle United fan in recent memory - until now that is! Back in 1993, Kevin Keegan led his side to the promised land of the Premier League after storming to the First Division title.
Just 12 months earlier, the club had been on the verge of relegation to the third tier of English football, but thanks to Keegan, and new chairman Sir John Hall's backing, their fortunes have been transformed. Little did we know then, but we were on the verge of the Entertainers era, which saw Newcastle shock the Premier League with KK's special brand of attacking football.
But on May 10, 1993, it was all about celebrating the achievement of the side which had gone from relegation candidates to heroes in a year. Sound familiar? This weekend, Eddie Howe and his players will parade through the streets of Newcastle with the Carabao Cup - the first major domestic trophy for 70 years.
If the scenes in 1993 are anything to go by, it promises to be a day to remember for anyone with black-and-white connections. Here, we look back on that incredible day as we wait to welcome home to the heroes of 2025.
