Everton handed fresh injury hope after Finch Farm sighting ahead of Liverpool

Everton will be hoping for some injury luck ahead of their Merseyside Derby against Liverpool next Wednesday.

David Moyes will have had a keen eye on his players who departed Finch Farm for international duty over the last week or so.

And it has to be said there is mixed news on Everton’s return to Finch Farm as the side gear up for the Merseyside Derby.

There will have been real fears surrounding Vitalli Mykolenko who suffered an injury with Ukraine over the weekend.

The 25-year-old is Everton’s only senior left-back in the squad and losing him would provide Moyes with a real headache.

Fortunately, Mykolenko’s scans have returned promising results and there could be even more good news coming out of the club.

Everton receive potential Iliman Ndiaye injury boost ahead of Liverpool

Dwight McNeil has now returned to Everton training ahead of the Merseyside Derby on Wednesday.

Moyes’ attacking options have been hit by poor injury luck and now would be a great time to see some of his players make their return.

With a massive April ahead of the Toffees, the club have released an image of Iliman Ndiaye arriving to Finch Farm on Friday.

It is not clear as to whether the forward has been involved in training with the squad on the pitch, but it is a promising sign nonetheless.

Ironically, Ndiaye suffered an injury against Liverpool back in February which forced him off the pitch in tears.

Having a player of his quality back to play against Liverpool would provide everyone around the club a huge boost.

Although it is a huge game, Everton may have to play it safe given they have all but secured their safety now.

What David Moyes has said about Ndiaye’s injury

Even Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White has praised Ndiaye for his performances this season in a turbulent Everton side.

The Senegal international has certainly been a revelation at Goodison Park and has already become a real fans’ favourite.

But the last time Moyes spoke to the media, he was not overly optimistic the likes of Ndiaye would be returning after the international break.

“I don’t think we’re necessarily going to have any of them back after the [international] break but we’ve got three boys there – Dwight, Ili and Dom – who we could all do with seeing back if we could,” Moyes said.

This may well still be the case, but seeing Ndiaye back in and around the action at Finch Farm is certainly a positive for the Blues.
