Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood will be a major doubt for their Premier League match against Manchester United - with the player also being ruled out of this weekend's FA Cup quarter-final.
The 74-cap New Zealand international picked up an injury while on duty with the Kiwis. He fell awkwardly on his hip and was forced off the pitch in the second half in their meeting against New Caledonia.
Wood has been the talisman for high-flying Forest so far this campaign. The 33-year-old has scored 18 goals in 29 Premier League appearances - including what turned out to be the winning goal during the reverse fixture at Old Trafford back in December when Forest ran out 3-2 winners over United.
Wood continued his form on the international stage over March's international gap by scoring a hat-trick in New Zealand's 7-0 win over Fiji. He was not on the score-sheet before being taken off in the next game.
United travel to the City Ground upon their return to action on Tuesday night (8pm). While Ruben Amorim's side have another weekend off, Forest are in FA Cup quarter-final action against Brighton and Hove Albion. As well as having some extra time to prepare, United have been given another potential boost with the doubts over Wood.
Ahead of the game against Brighton, manager Nuno Espirito Santo gave the latest on Wood, with an assessment hinting that he might not be available for the visit of United, either.
"Chris went for a scan today, and we're still waiting," the manager said during his pre-match press conference. "He went to see a specialist for the scan, so we're waiting for the information.
"He's not going to be available for this game [against Brighton]. He fell really hard on his hip and there's some pain there, so now we have to wait."
As for United, they have been given a boost ahead of the match with the news that five players have returned to first team training; Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro as well as goalkeepers Altay Bayndir and Tom Heaton.
