Mailbag: Drafting talent at 'devalued' position?

_It's looking more and more like the Cowboys won't draft Ashton Jeanty at pick No. 12, even if he is still available. However, I believe that is a mistake. Why would Dallas pass on a generational talent at a "devalued" position like running back just to take a good prospect at a "more valued" position? I think they should take the very special player in Jeanty if they have the chance._ **– Keith Jones/Sumrall, MS**

**Nick:** Here's the reality of the situation - if he's truly a "generational talent" ... he won't be there at 12. You can't tell me none of the top 11 teams don't need that kind of difference-maker. There are always exceptions to the rule, but with every team grading these guys like they do, if a player falls past the first 10-12 picks, then he's not viewed as generational.

It's the same with Micah Parsons. Yes, he proved to be a difference maker and should've been picked in the Top 3. But he wasn't viewed that way. Now, to your question, I don't think the Cowboys will pass on him at 12 if he's there. I think they would take him, but I don't think he'll be there.
