Cowboys Get Draft ‘Advice’ As 2 Options Become Clear

The Dallas Cowboys will enter the NFL Draft knowing where the roster weaknesses are, and for most, it has been narrowed down to two positions.

With CeeDee Lamb needing help in the passing game after being the Cowboys' only reliable weapon last season, that looms as the most obvious avenue for the front office to go down.

However, another option was seen as the first priority for the Cowboys, and that is running back.

Aston Jeanty was thought to be "the" pick for the Cowboys, but the Las Vegas Raiders and Chicago Bears are picking up steam as the teams most likely to draft the Boise State star before Dallas at No. 12.

But out of the two positions, Bleacher Report, in giving "advice" to all 32 NFL teams this offseason, wants Dallas to draft a running back for Dak Prescott.

"Draft a running back within the first two rounds to help Dak Prescott, who's become more prone to injury as he ages into his 30s," Bleacher Report writes.

That is low-hanging fruit, as most know the Cowboys, despite signing Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders in free agency, will be signing a running back-it's just a matter of when.

As we mentioned, Jeanty is likely out, but others in Omarion Hampton, Kaleb Johnson, TreVeyon Henderson, and Quinshon Judkins are all options for the Cowboys either in the first or second round.

So the advice isn't really "advice" more so pointing out something that most already know, given the make-up of the Cowboys roster.

The consensus is that Dallas' first couple of selections will be either receiver or running back to help give Brian Schottenheimer's offense some much-needed spark.
