Man Utd are planning for the future and will hand a talented youngster a new contract soon.

Manchester United are set to reward talented teenager Bendito Mantato with a new long-term contract, and he could even make his first-team debut before the end of the season.

The 17-year-old has established himself as one of the most promising youngsters at the club and is understood to have caught the eye of head coach Ruben Amorim with his impressive performances on the right wing. Mantato has seven goals and one assist in 13 appearances for the U18s this season and scored the winner in their 3-2 victory over Arsenal in the Youth Cup quarter-finals.

Mantato is viewed as a player with huge potential and could be moulded into a right wing-back under Amorim. It is claimed he is already being prepared for a potential senior debut, despite only ever making one appearance for the club at U21s level, and that he will sign a new four-year deal next week.

Fabrizio Romano teases new contract for Bendito Mantato

Taking to social media on Friday afternoon, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claimed Bendito Mantao is on the verge of signing a new long-term contract with Manchester United. "Bendito Mantato, set to sign new deal at Man United as part of the project for present and future," he wrote on social media. "The agreement is almost done for 2008 talent to stay and extend, with Amorim keen on giving him first team debut soon."

Romano then followed the update up with another post that claimed both head coach Ruben Amorim and technical director Jason Wilcox are huge fans of the teenage talent. He added: "Bendito Mantato will sign a four year deal at Manchester United valid until June 2029. Jason Wilcox, key to get the agreement done as well as coach Ruben Amorim who really trusts the player."

United will target a right winger in the summer transfer window, though Mantato could be given an opportunity in that role during their post-season tour of Malaysia and their summer friendlies in the United States.
