For the Raptors, they remain slimly alive in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. The team is multiple games out of the final Play-In spot and could look to make a last-ditch effort. Toronto holds a record of 26-47 on the year.
While it's unlikely, Toronto has been playing much better of late, potentially setting itself up nicely for next season. But in this game, they are dealing with some injuries to key players.
The biggest name on the injury report for Toronto is star forward Brandon Ingram. Ingram remains out of the lineup as he continues his injury recovery.
Since being traded to the Raptors at the NBA trade deadline, Ingram has yet to suit up. But if the team can make a run toward the postseason, maybe we'll see Ingram return this season after all.
Toronto has been a strange team all season, but they've started to turn things around lately. This team has the tools to be successful, but the messages from the front office have been a little confusing.

As for the Hornets, they are at the bottom of the East standings, and it has been another long season. Charlotte holds a lowly record of 18-54 on the season.
Entering this game, star guard LaMelo Ball was listed on the injury report. The star guard is dealing with right ankle impingement and has been in and out of the Hornets' lineup of late.
Ball also remains out for this contest, draining this matchup of some real firepower. This is certainly a blow to the Hornets' chances in this game, but it could be better long-term for this franchise.
Charlotte will look to others as they try to end the year on a high note. But this game against the Raptors could be tough without the services of Ball on the court.
