The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to add pieces to the roster ahead of next month's NFL Draft from Green Bay, Wisconsin.
General manager Jason Licht added a stout pass rusher earlier this offseason with the signing of Haason Reddick in free agency. And on Friday, Greg Auman reported that the Bucs have added some defensive line depth.
"Bucs have re-signed defensive lineman Eric Banks to a one-year deal for 2025 worth $1.03 million. Missed last season with a torn triceps, has four career tackles. Last played with Cardinals in 2022-23. Will compete for a backup DL job this fall."
Banks was waived by the Bucs last August after suffering the injury, but he's fully healed and expected to offer some rotational depth to the defensive line next season.
The 27-year-old went undrafted out if UTSA in 2020 and signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent that offseason. He moved on to the Los Angeles Chargers and Detroit Lions in 2021 before landing with the Arizona Cardinals for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
The former Roadrunner has appeared in just six NFL games, but Licht sees enough in Banks to have signed him last offseason.

Now, fully healthy, it's hoped that Banks can contribute. In his last season on the field in 2023, he earned an overall PFF grade of 51.7 with a 55.3 pass rush grade and a 52.4 run defense grade.
