The Denver Broncos got off to a strong start in the offseason by adding elite talent on both sides of the ball.
Although the Broncos' offense looks stacked, they still have work to do. The team's top priority is adding two running backs or a starting option.
Several free-agent running backs could make a more significant impact than last season. According to Bleacher Report, the Broncos are one of three teams seen as a good fit for former Los Angeles Chargers running back and former first-team All-American J.K. Dobbins.
Dobbins had an explosive three-year career at Ohio State before being drafted as the starting running back for the Baltimore Ravens in 2020. While he showed promise, Dobbins has struggled with injuries throughout his career.
He missed the entire 2021 season due to a torn ACL, sat out nine games the following year to recover from the ACL injury and another knee issue, and tore his Achilles tendon in Week 1 of the 2023 season.
The 26-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Chargers as a free agent, and although he missed five games due to an MCL sprain, it was his healthiest season since his rookie year.
Last season, he rushed for 905 yards and nine touchdowns on 195 carries in 13 games. Now, Dobbins aims to prove he can stay on the field and be a high-volume back.
Denver could use him as a key contributor to their dynamic offense. Despite a solid offensive line, the Broncos' rushing offense ranked just 16th in the league last season. Dobbins' speed and ability to be an efficient pass-catcher would make him a valuable addition to the Broncos.
