Aston Villa and Newcastle are hoping to land an in-form Premier League winger

Aston Villa have reportedly expressed a strong interest in securing the signature of in-form Bournemouth star Dango Ouattara in the summer transfer window.

Caught Offside understands that Unai Emery is in the market to enhance his side’s attacking options this summer and claims that the Spaniard sees Ouattara as the type of player that would fit in seamlessly with his plans at Villa Park next season.

Aston Villa earned a lucrative figure of around £64m for Jhon Duranin the January transfer window and have earned a windfall in excess of £42m after reaching the Champions League quarter-final which is expected to be invested in new recruits to aid the club’s chances of competing on multiple fronts next term.

Aston Villa express interest in Dango Ouattara

Caught Offside reports that Aston Villa and Newcastle United are both in the market to try and sign Dango Ouattara after his impressive season at the Vitality Stadium. The Burkina Faso international has registered nine goals and four assists in 30 appearances this term and has been crucial to Bournemouth’s pursuit of European football in a hugely impressive season without last year’s leading goalscorer Dominic Solanke.

Ouattara is primarily a left-winger by trade but over the course of the season he has played in a variety of positions including right midfield, wing back and even on occasion as a centre forward. The 23-year-old has been lauded for his pace, finishing, work rate and excellent ball control which makes him a real handful for defenders to contain. These factors combined with his immense versatility make him a useful target to Aston Villa, who have struggled at times in the league due to the added strain and workload of European football.

How much is Dango Ouattara worth?

CaughtOffside understands that Bournemouth could accept offers in the region of €40m for Ouattara, which equates to around £33m. It remains to be seen, however, if the Cherries will green light Ouattara’s exit as the 23-year-old is currently under contract until 2028 after signing a five-year contract when he first arrived from Lorient in 2023.
