After the New England Patriots signed Stefon Diggs, the wide receiver room took a significant step forward. However, Drake Maye still needs to add at least one more weapon as he heads into his Sophomore season.
Iowa State wide receiver Jaylin Noel told Justin Melo of The Draft Network that the Patriots are one of four teams hosting him on a Top-30 visit in early April.
I've had plenty of virtual meetings on Zoom. I have a few in-person visits coming up early in the month of April that I'll be attending. I am visiting with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New England Patriots, and Carolina Panthers.
Even after adding Diggs, the Patriots still need a receiver and could turn to Noel for a super athlete at the position.
Noel had an incredible NFL Scouting Combine, which helped propel his draft stock. In the vertical jump and broad jump, Noel put up the best performance of any wide receiver during athletic testing. He reached a 41.5-inch vertical jump and an 11-foot-two broad jump.
His jumping ability wasn't the only athletic feat displayed at the Combine, as Noel ran an excellent 4.39 40-yard dash. While he wasn't measured as the fastest wide receiver, his speed combined with his jumps made him one of the best performers at the Combine.
Kent Lee Platte, the creator of RAS, or Relative Athletic Score, which measures a football player's athletic ability compared to their position, had a very high grade on Noel. Out of the best possible score of 10.00, Noel scored a 9.72 RAS, which was ranked 97th out of 3445 wide receivers from 1987 to 2025.
While he may not have the size, Noel is an incredible athlete. Noel will likely be a Day 2 selection during the 2025 NFL Draft. The Patriots bringing Noel in on a top-30 visit highlights their interest in the super-athlete.
