LeBron James is known for being one of the most accomplished and dominant basketball players of all time, known for his exceptional skill, and the impact he makes on and off the court.

In 2011, James invested $6.5 million into Liverpool Football Club to acquire a 2% stake, as part of a marketing partnership with Fenway Sports Group.

He has since turned that into a 1% holding into the Fenway Sports Group global empire.

Over the years, James has regularly been seen donning Liverpool-branded clothing, whether that is warming up before a game, or watching on courtside, he actively showcases the club’s fashion pieces.

James is one of most infamous sports stars on the planet and as a result collaborating with him in marketing campaigns has been a huge hit, as it has upped the sales of official LFC clothing and brought money into the club. A win-win situation for both sides.

LeBron James has had two collaborations with the club thus far, where on both occasions the buzz around him at each time was loud.

In February 2023, as the first collection dropped, LeBron James had just become the all-time leading points scorer in NBA history. Fast forward to March of 2024, his second collaboration, James had just reached 40,000 career points scored.

Each collaboration melds football and basketball aesthetics together, with the second collaboration including a limited-edition basketball jersey, a football shirt and a new version of James’ famous Nike LeBron sneakers.

Since investing into the club, James has grown to be a big Liverpool fan and has expressed his love and support for the club on several occasions, even with him being located across the Atlantic Ocean.

Due to James’ very public love for Liverpool, NBA journalist Mike Trudell took it upon himself to wind the basketball icon up whilst questioning him recently.

To James’ horror, Trudell was wearing a jacket from Liverpool’s biggest rivals – Manchester United.

An encounter, shared on Mike Trudell’s Instagram page, that was most likely intended to be a light-hearted one, took a turn when the basketball superstar noticed the jacket the interviewer was wearing.

James was quick to interrupt Trudell’s question, saying: “That is a horrible jacket, by the way.”

LeBron James then proceeded to try and rip the Manchester-based club’s badge off the jacket, with Trudell seeing the funny side of it all.

James will no doubt be the happier fan at the minute though, with Liverpool closing in on a Premier League title, whilst Manchester United see themselves in 13th place with nine games to go, as they endure a frustrating first season under new boss Ruben Amorim.
