Barcelona and Argentina icon Lionel Messi previously tipped one current Manchester United star under Ruben Amorim to be one of the best players in the world.
Ruben Amorim’s men won’t return to action until April after playing their last Premier League match earlier this month ahead of the March international break.
Leicester City hosted Manchester United at the King Power Stadium and the Red Devils comfortably beat Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side 3-0 in the Premier League.
United are 13th in the Premier League table and Amorim’s men are 12 points behind fourth-place Chelsea with only nine league matches remaining.
The Red Devils have struggled in the 2024-25 campaign and have won only 10 Premier League matches, with United on course for their worst league finish.
United face the real possibility of failing to secure European football through their league standing, but the Europa League remains a lifeline for Amorim.
The Europa League offers Amorim the chance to lift major silverware as United manager this season and the only viable route to the Champions League.

What did Barcelona legend Lionel Messi have to say about Man Utd star Mason Mount?
Mason Mount made a real name for himself during his spell at Chelsea before he left Stamford Bridge and made the move to Manchester United in 2023.
The Red Devils splashed out a hefty £55m transfer fee, including a £5m in add-ons, to sign the 27-year-old midfielder when Erik ten Hag was in charge at United.
Mason Mount has shown moments of his Chelsea form during his time at Old Trafford, but the United man has struggled to make a real impact at the Red Devils.
The former Chelsea and England ace, who is United’s current No 7 shirt holder, has seen his spell at Old Trafford heavily disrupted by injuries since his arrival in 2023.
Mount has managed 20 appearances for United this season and the former Three Lions international has only netted once and picked up a single assist.
Inter Miami superstar Lionel Messi admitted that he had watched Mount when he was at Chelsea and tipped the United player to hit a high level in football.
“Having watched him play, he has [the] potential to be one of the best,” he said, as per The Sun in 2020.

Man Utd ace Mason Mount reacted to Lionel Messi’s praise and the former Chelsea star made his feelings clear
Speaking to YouTuber Chunkz on the UMM YouTube channel, Mount said it was “crazy to believe” the praise from 2022 World Cup winner Messi.
The ex-England international added that he remains hopeful that he can live up to the potential that Messi saw in him, despite his injury-hit career.
Responding to Messi’s remarks, Mount said in 2021: “I didn’t believe it at first… I didn’t think it was real.
“I don’t really have words for it… it’s crazy to believe.
“When you read something like that it gives you more motivation to want to get better and better.
“Hopefully, I can do that in the future.”
United are back in action on 1st April with their Premier League visit to City Ground to face Nottingham Forest, with kick-off slated for 8pm UK time.
