Chelsea target open to summer move

Chelsea could once again be busy this summer with those in charge of the club likely to want to bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad.

The Blues have endured a mixed season so far but currently sit fourth in the Premier League table and remain firm favourites to win the Europa Conference League for the first time in the club’s history.

Having sat second in the top flight table at Christmas, the West London side have won just four of their last 13 league games and have dropped to fourth in the process, putting their chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League at risk.

One player that has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer is Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap, and it is claimed that the player is open to the idea of a move.

According to TBR Football, the Ipswich forward is open to leaving Portman Road this summer, with several clubs believed to be interested in him.

Delap, 22, joined Ipswich from Manchester City last summer having spent several years in the Citizens’ academy.

Delap has attracted interest from several top Premier League clubs

He had played just six times for City at senior level when he left The Etihad, but the Englishman has enjoyed a fine debut season in East Anglia, netting ten times in 28 league games for Kieran McKenna’s side.

It is claimed that Chelsea will face competition from a number of clubs, including Newcastle United, in the race to land the Englishman this summer.

While Delap is contracted to his current side until the end of the 2028/29 season, the report claims that Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Arsenal have all been in contact with the striker’s representatives to discuss a potential deal.

The report claims that Delap is confident in his own ability and believes that he could make an impact at any Premier League side.
