NBA Insider Responds to LeBron James Call Out With Strong Message

LeBron James has been drawing quite a bit of attention for his highly publicized battle with Stephen A. Smith. During a rant on "The Pat McAfee Show," the Los Angeles Lakers superstar took a shot at ESPN's Brian Windhorst, prompting the NBA insider to respond to him.

While James is beefing with Smith, he's taken aim at the media landscape across the NBA as a whole, and that included a quick jab at Windhorst. James and Windhorst attended St. Vincent-St. Mary's high school together, but James found it weird how he believes Windhorst acts like the pair are best friends when they are not.

"I've seen Brian Windhorst on one of these shows not too long ago ... This guy says he's like my (expletive) best friend. These guys are just weird," James said on "The Pat McAfee Show."

Windhorst has covered James extensively throughout his career in the NBA, but it appears the Lakers star isn't too fond of him. When responding to James' comments, Windhorst kept it real by saying that he owes James a lot, as he has inadvertently played a big role in his media career becoming what it is today.

"LeBron doesn't owe me anything, I owe him a lot," Windhorst said on "5 Good Minutes With Windy." "He has been a great friend to my hometown and my alma mater, that I would stand on. Anything else, I would never say or stand on."

Regardless of James' thoughts on Windhorst, he has to help the Lakers get back on track after losing four of their past five games. They will have an opportunity to do that when they square off against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night in a game that could have huge playoff implications.
