Man Utd now willing to sign 22-year-old star with 27 G/A,£67m deal could be agreed

Manchester United are interested in signing one of Bundesliga’s stand-out strikers this summer.

The Red Devils have had a tough Premier League campaign and are presently 13th in the table.

The club have struggled in the final third, scoring only 37 goals from 29 league games.

Manager Ruben Amorim may want an upgrade upfront, and Sky Sport Germany claim that the Red Devils are interested in signing Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Frenchman has had a fantastic campaign with the German outfit, registering 19 goals and eight assists in all competitions. Arsenal and Liverpool are also keen on him.

Ekitike is 99 percent likely to leave Eintracht, but the Bundesliga outfit won’t let him go on the cheap. They are set to demand a premium fee of £67 million for his services.

Ekitike would be a statement signing for United

Rasmus Hojlund has had a difficult second year with the Red Devils. He has scored just three times in the top flight and recently went on a 21-game goal drought.

Joshua Zirkzee was signed from Bologna last summer to provide competition but has managed a similar tally. He has looked more comfortable as a number 10.

Amorim may want an another striker in the squad. The focus could be on landing an emerging ace with huge potential instead of an experienced star on big wages.

Ekitike would be a statement signing for the Red Devils. The Reims graduate is a good ball-playing striker. He has the ability to create chances alongside scoring goals.

The France youth international has also caught the eye with his hold-up play in the final third. Ekitike is only 22 and has the traits to become an elite striker in the long run.

It remains to be seen whether United can afford to make such a huge outlay on Ekitike. The club may require a big-money exit to balance their books before pursuing a deal.

The scenario could be different if United qualify for the Champions League by winning the Europa League this term. In that case, the club could have extra budget to spend.
