The Memphis Grizzlies have had a busy Friday.
First, the club fired six-year head coach Taylor Jenkins, with just nine games left until the postseason.
Memphis had been trending in the wrong direction of late. With two-time All-Star Ja Morant on the shelf, the Grizzlies had dropped four of their last five games, and now sport a 44-29 record on the year with several tough contests remaining on their slate.
Perhaps more intriguingly to Grizzlies fans than the news of Jenkins' firing, however, is the apparent improvement of Morant's health.
Per Jovan Buha of The Athletic, Morant has seen his status upgraded from out to merely questionable ahead of a clash against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, who despite an identical 44-29 record are a notch ahead of Memphis as the Western Conference's No. 4 seed.
