Ravens breaking As Coach John Harbaugh Signs Major New Contract

John Harbaugh, the Baltimore Ravens announced on Friday, has finalized an agreement with the team that will keep the head coach under contract through 2028.

Harbaugh, 62, is the Ravens' all-time-winningest head coach - reason enough that this deal has long been speculated about and expected.

He was entering the final year of his contract in 2025. ... and this now registers as arguably the most important signing of the Ravens offseason.

Harbaugh has tried to downplay any urgency here, having recently said, "Those things take care of themselves."

And now, as he preps for his 18th season in charge of the Ravens, those things have indeed been taken care of.

Since Harbaugh took over in 2008, the Ravens are 172-104 in the regular season and 13-11 in the postseason. ... with the highest point of all of course coming with Harbaugh leading his Ravens to victory in Super Bowl XLVII while coaching against his brother Jim's San Francisco 49ers.

The Ravens are considered a perennial contender, having made the playoffs in 12 of Harbaugh's 17 seasons. While some fans understandably want this team to "get over the hump'' again, Baltimore has advanced to four AFC Championship Games during his tenure.

And once again this year, in large part due to what looks like a loaded roster and due to the steady hand of the man in charge?

Harbaugh's team once again figures as a contender.
