Real Betis star Johnny Cardoso has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs in the summer. The United States international has been in scintillating form this season and has been pivotal in Betis’s charge to earn a Champions League spot. According to the Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur have a two-week window in the summer in which they can exercise an option to buy the 23-year-old for £21 million. This clause is active only from June 30th to July 10th. It was also earlier reported that Tottenham were keeping tabs on the till the end of the season before exercising the option to bring the Real Betis player to N17.
An upgrade for Spurs?
Tottenham Hotspur players have not played as per the expectations set by the fans and the manager. Many players have been mediocre at best throughout the season and have lacked character. He is known for his defensive abilities, like breaking up play and intercepting balls in the heart of the midfield. However, Cardoso has also been a key part of Betis’ build-up play and breaking the press via his through balls.
