Detroit Pistons Deliver Unfortunate News Before Cleveland Cavaliers Game

The Detroit Pistons are in hot pursuit of the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference.

The club recently jumped the injury-riddled Milwaukee Bucks for the No. 5 seed in the conference. Now, they are two games behind the Indiana Pacers in the standings.

Evidently, the Pistons -- coming off two straight losses -- have quite a difficult contest coming as they're looking to continue pushing in the East.

Detroit has to take on the No. 1-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers, who have a 59-14 record through 73 games played.

While taking on the conference's best team is no easy feat, the Pistons are trying to do so without their star guard. Cade Cunningham was ruled out early on with a left calf contusion.

Evidently, Cunningham's health is much more important than the No. 4 seed rather than the No. 5 seed.

The Cavaliers have a few contributors and rotational pieces out for the game, but their four core players are all healthy and ready to go.

Just before the game, Detroit ruled out one of its key players.

Pistons make unfortunate announcement before Cavaliers game

Prior to tip-off, the Pistons announced that Tobias Harris, who was previously listed as questionable, was ruled out with Right Achilles Tendinopathy.

"Tobias Harris is out for tonight's game vs Cavs due to Right Achilles Tendinopathy," Coty Davis shared on X.

Harris is a veteran on the squad in Detroit, and losing his presence while already being without players like Cunningham is quite a blow.

The Pistons are a 6.5-point underdog to the Cavaliers, who they are hosting on their home floor.
