Skip to content Jaxson Dart had an impressive afternoon at Ole Miss’s pro day on Friday as he continues to prepare for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Dart fired the ball 65 times in front of several NFL decision-makers, including New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore, Cleveland Brown head coach Kevin Stefanski and Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
Was Dart effective? You better believe it.
“Jaxson Dart put on a show today,” said NFL.com analyst Ian Rapoport. “There were a lot of wow throws today. It sounded like it was overall, extremely, extremely positive for Jaxson Dart.”
Rapoport believes that Dart could sneak back into the first round as possibly the third quarterback taken in this spring’s draft. If Dart is indeed the third quarterback to be taken in the draft, as Rapoport believes he could be, then Dart has a chance to avoid the second round and actually be a first-round pick.
Dart didn’t win a national title at Ole Miss, and he didn’t even get to an SEC Championship Game despite all the glossy numbers he put up in Oxford.
But that hardly means those numbers didn’t elevate Dart into the upper echelon of all-time SEC quarterbacks. In 2024, he piled up a whopping 4,279 passing yards, 29 touchdowns and just 6 interceptions. In 2023, he threw for 3,364 yards with 23 touchdowns and only 5 picks. And in his first season in Oxford in 2022 after transferring from USC, he even put up 2,974 passing yards with 20 TDs and 11 interceptions.
It was quite a ride for Dart in the SEC, and then it was showtime at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis a month ago, as Dart put his best foot (or right arm) forward with NFL scouts galore on hand to see where Dart would fit in with his to-be-determined NFL team.
The 2025 NFL Draft is set to begin on April 24 in Green Bay.
