Charles Barkley was once a feared competitor on the hardwood in the NBA. In fact, anyone who knows anything about the former Auburn basketball star knows Barkley delivered an impressive Hall of Fame career.

However, it’s been quite a while since Barkley suited up in a real game, and he was unprepared for a seemingly simple task on the set of CBS’s March Madness coverage on Friday night. The network had just aired a segment featuring some of the best bank shots of this year’s NCAA Tournament and called on Barkley to deliver his own bank shot on the studio’s court.

The segment started innocently enough, but Barkley quickly sent his cohorts into a round of roaring laughter. That’s because Barkley delivered brick after brick without coming close to making a bank shot for a considerable length of time for an individual of his prowess.

“Chuck, do we need to define bankshot?”

“Did he even play in the NBA?”

“Get a little closer, Chuck!”

Barkley finally delivered a clean bank shot to end the segment, but it’s safe to say he will have to wait a while before he lives this one down:
